The One with Ghostbusters

Hello all!

Well, we are wrapping up Eric's birthday weekend now and it was full of lots of fun and tons of love. He was lucky enough to have his birthday fall on a four-day weekend this year, which he was very excited about! And let me tell you, we celebrated ALL weekend. Our celebration went like this...

Thursday night was my "party attack" plan in which I would set up all decorations and gifts and bake a cake all while Eric was sleeping. I thought it would be safe to assume that after a very long day at work, (even a long week) that he would pass out no later than 11 from exhaustion. Well, no. He did not. This guy stays up until 3:30 a.m. and pushes back my "party attack" a few hours, which was alright as I was wide awake due to pure excitement anyway. Once he was out, I sat quietly and waited to be absolutely sure before I made my move. How sure? Well, after a few minutes of sitting and waiting for his snoring to start, I then progressed into saying, "babe.. Babe.. BABE" repeatedly and got no response. Good sign! But not yet completely convinced, I start to jump on the bed. No reaction and now he is out and off dreaming into whatever he dreams about. Reeses Peanut Butter Cups. Motorcycles. Video Games. Maybe a video game with a motorcycle made out of Reeses, I dont know, but he was there.

All I have to say is that I am happy he is such a hard sleeper because between the creaks in our floorboards, blowing up a full bag of baloons on my own (some blowing up in my face. Ow!), moving presents and bags up and down the stairs and mixing and baking his cake, it was loud! At least I thought it was loud, but he never woke once. In fact when I finished, at 6:30 a.m., he was in the exact same position he was when I had left him. Must be a good dream!

After a refreshing 4 hours of sleep, we woke up Friday morning at about 10 due to Eric's phone exploding with "Happy Birthday" messages. Now, my family knows I am not much of a "morning person" and usually require a comfortable 10 hours of sleep to not be a grump but, I was so excited to get up and celebrate that it was rather easy to get up. That being said, it was another story to get the actual Birthday-Boy up! After coaxing him out of bed, he came downstairs to, what formally was the living room, now taken over by baloons, streamers, signs and presents. He was shocked and suprised as he had no idea what the heck happened to our house, but also he was very happy :)

Then there was cake!
Reeses Peanut Butter Cup cake, of course!

Saturday we had our first real date since we've been married! We went and saw the movie 'Looper', which we really enjoyed so two-thumbs up and a recommendation from us here, and then we went out to dinner at Applebees. After dinner, we decided to go to Fourth Street and Bardstown in Louisville to celebrate Eric's birthday some more. We invited Eric's friend Maio (Darren Maio, but we call him Maio) to come along. Fourth Street is a full street, similar to Fremont Street in Las Vegas but, it is all bars and all the bars are different themes, (country, rock, rave, rap/hip hop..etc.) and you get carded to get on the actual street rather than the bars. Pretty cool place! We bounced back and forth between bars, depending on wherever the good music was playing at the time so the boys could show off their "sweet dance moves."

Speaking of dance moves... If you don't know already, there is a new viral song called "Gangnam Style" by Psy a Korean Rap Artist that has blown up recently in the U.S. and to Eric. It is his new dance now and he does it everywhere! Down the street. In the house. In the clubs. Even on stage! (I will come back to this). Before we even left for Louisville, we had listened and he had danced to "Gangnam Style" about 37 times that afternoon, perfecting his moves and preparing them for the night ahead. At every bar we went to, (7 bars total) Maio would go up to the DJ and request they play "Gangnam Style" so Eric could show his new dance. It was our mission! Then, we started to hear the songs beat start to come on slowly and you can see in his face, "Oh, its time." Next thing I know, Eric is gone in the crowd and I lose sight of him in the dancing crowd. Then I see that red hair we all know and love bobbing up and down. He is up on the stage, in front of everyone while Maio starts to clear the bridal party that was up there to the edges and before you know it, it's on. Eric is dancing his dance and literally EVERYBODY in the room stopped what they were doing and were screaming and cheering for him. He soaked up every second of it and had a blast! Good work babe.

Oh and if things couldn't get any more interesting, we happened to run into the Ghost Busters at the Rock Bar!

And met some new friends

All in all it was a great time! We had a lot of fun together.

And Eric got to shake his "thang"

Happy Birthday Babe!
I love you!

Are we Lucky 'Orr' What?!
